Author - Neil Milkins

 

Neil Milkins was born in South Wales in1952. He left school in 1968, went to London aged sixteen taking on various jobs in Hayes, Middlesex. After two years he returned to his hometown of Abertillery and worked in various industries. Between 1994 and 2004 he worked as a tree-felling contractor until a back injury forced an early retirement. With the aid of a number of government grants he was able to pursue a part-time career as an author. In May 2008 he launched his first book: Every Mother's Nightmare - Abertillery in Mourning. It was reprinted in October 2008 being one of the fastest selling books produced by Old Bakehouse Publications since their founding in 1939. He has been a member of Equity since 2000 and has appeared in a number of Welsh television dramas and children's programmes as a support artiste. His biggest break to date was the privilege of acting as technical advisor to Talent TV South, the film company commissioned to produce a 1 hour documentary based on his books, 'Every Mother's Nightmare - Abertillery in Mourning' and 'Who Was Jack the Stripper?' The documentary is being presented by Fred Dinenage MBE and top British criminologist and criminal profiler Professor David Wilson. It will be aired throughout Britain and Europe at 9.00pm on Sunday 29th May 2011 on the C+I Channel 553. It will also be shown on C+I HD on Sky 555 and C+I on Virgin 237. 
The author has been married to wife Sharon since 1973, they having five children and eleven grandchildren.
